Previous Next Coca-Cola was created in 1886 by chemist, pharmacist, and soldier John Pemberton as a medicinal syrup. He sought to create an elixir that would bring moments of happiness to people. In 1892, Asa Griggs Candler bought the formula and founded the company, which he rapidly expanded. In 1899, he acquired the bottling rights, which enabled mass distribution. During the 20th century, Coca-Cola became a global icon. In 1915, its famous bottle was designed. Today, the brand is present in more than 200 countries.
